Surrender Your Bloodhound

Thank you for considering West Coast Bloodhound Rescue when deciding to surrender your bloodhound.

We know this must be a difficult time for you.

We do not ask for a specific surrender fee. Instead, we ask that you are prepared to update your bloodhound's vaccinations, have the dog tested for heartworm and do a fecal test. If you can afford to pay for the spay or neuter of your dog, that also helps. However, we know that strained finances are often the cause for surrendering your dog, so we only ask you to do what you can honestly afford. If your bloodhound has a behavioral problem, we may insist that you take your bloodhound for a professional behavior assessment. If required, we will tell you who to go to (in your local area) and what this will cost. If the fee is a problem, we can discuss this with you, but it will be a small price to pay to know that we have all the information we need to find your pet the best possible home. A contribution to the expenses of rehoming your dog, vet bills etc. is always appreciated.

We are a 501c3 registered non-profit organization, and all donations can be written off against your taxes.
